This book is written for early childhood educators, teachers, carers and parents of young children. Its goal is to answer frequently asked questions about teaching maths and providing simple, easy-to-follow guidelines on introducing and building on mathematical concepts in young children from birth to five. The information contained in this book is derived from a significant research project funded by the National Centre of Science, ICT and Mathematics Education in Rural and Regional Australia (SiMERR) and other research.
