Port Sunlight and its People offers a fascinating glimpse into the past lives of the villagers of Port Sunlight, its many visitors and its creator Lord Leverhulme – a grocer’s son who became one of the wealthiest men in the world.

Author Jo Birch allows us to join journalists at the soap factory in 1890, and we see Christmas cards and postcards sent by residents, revealing what they really thought about the village. Lord Leverhulme’s life is also explored, with his account book, kept under lock and key for the last century, opened up and viewed.
