We will conduct comprehensive media and PR campaigns throughout the U.S. and Canada to promote Fluevog. Our Canada-based publicists will work collaboratively with the Fluevog marketing team, the book’s editorial team, and Fluevog’s New York-based fashion publicists RAW Agency to build a pitch list and story angles. The media kit will include, among other things, BLADs from the book, video footage of John Fluevog, and a written Q & A with the author.
In addition to promoting the book on LifeTree Media’s social and digital channels, we will leverage the Fluevog brand’s considerable online reach to promote the book to fans of the brand around the world. Tentative plans include:
- Digital paid ads on Facebook and Instagram to drive awareness of the book
- Pre-order campaign offering a special VIP edition of the book and other exclusive perks from the Fluevog Shoe company. This will be driven through LifeTree’s social media channels and email list, working collaboratively with Fluevog to leverage their broad and passionate fan base
- Promotion of the book on Fluevog.com
- Engagement with Fluevog’s and LifeTree’s social media base, offering teasers and bite-sized content from the book
- Influencer outreach campaign, including paid promotion to key fashion bloggers and Instagram influencers, as well as outreach to the brand’s celebrity fans such as Alice Cooper, Jack White and Lady Gaga
Book tour: Author and designer John Fluevog will personally travel to more than 20 cities to host a live in-person event at every Fluevog store location to drive awareness around the time of launch and in the months following the book’s publication date. He will sign books, greet fans and pose for photographs, which will then be used to engage with fans on social media and promote the rest of the book tour.
Live events: Fluevog Shoes will host a major book launch party in the brand’s hometown of Vancouver, Canada, featuring giveaways, VIP guest list and an opportunity for fans to meet and take selfies with the author.
We will create a special limited edition of the book featuring special colors and foil finishes on the cover. This will be used as an incentive in a pre-sale campaign starting in Spring 2019, details of which are to be confirmed.

These values flow directly from the heart of John Fluevog himself, who says that his mission in business and in life is to help people "walk in spirit."
To mark his fiftieth year in the shoe business in 2020, John Fluevog has penned a love letter to Fluvogers everywhere in FLUEVOG: 50 Years of Unique Soles for Unique Souls. In this full-color, visually rich coffee table book, Fluevog gives fans and fashionistas a behind-the-scenes look into the brand's evolution and his own creative process. With his unmistakable jovial warmth, Fluevog reveals the ups and downs of the business’s evolution and his own personal triumphs and heartbreaks with disarming candor and intimacy.
Echoing the eclectic style of Fluevog's whimsical and witty zine-style catalogs over the years, the book features Fluevog's own design sketches and handwritten messages, blended with stories, graphics, and previously unpublished photographs from the brand's archives. The book is a fascinating peek inside the colorful mind of the iconoclastic designer, while also paying homage to the wild and beautiful John Fluevog shoes themselves.
