Опис книги

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an integral part of the CIPD Professional Standards. In addition to traditional modes of study, all CIPD students must also demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, CPD. In addition, those wishing to become Members of the Institute must demonstrate a similar commitment to CPD. This book will provide both groups with detailed practical guidance and a theoretical overview. The text includes a range of examples and case studies (with commentary) and various activities are proposed to aid self-assessment and evaluate progress.

This second edition increases the focus on:
- critical debate about issues in CPD
- outlines how to organise and encourage CPD
- spells out how seniors and professionals can use CPD.

"The chapters answer many of the questions we are asked during CPD workshops and will provide underpinning arguments and support for both staff and students to encourage a positive attitude to this development tool." - Tina Price, Course Leader MA Personnel and Development, Westminster Business School (about the 1st edition)

"Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is important because security for individuals no longer lies in the company we work for but in the skills, knowledge and experience that we have within ourselves. The book explores the different methods that can be used to analyze your development needs and create and implement a CPD plan. I recommend this book to CIPD students, members of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), individuals interested in developing themselves, employers and HR managers." - Saheed Ahmed, Amazon reviewer
