David Goggins' childhood was tainted with abuse, prejudice, and extreme poverty. As a young man, he became depressed, turned to food for comfort, and found it hard to get motivated to do anything.

However, instead of letting this destroy him, he turned his life around. Goggins rose above and dug deep to find the mental toughness, courage, and determination to get him through the darkest of times and use his experiences to motivate him to become powerful, successful, and do good.
