A Winter Love Song is a heartwarming and moving work of historical fiction, set before and across the Second World War. A story of survival and love from bestselling author Rita Bradshaw.

For just a minute or two she had been in a different place, a different world, somewhere where the past and future didn’t matter and the present was magical.

North East England, 1918. Bonnie is born into a travelling-fair community, and when her mother dies just months later, her beloved father becomes everything to her. Then, at the tender age of ten, disaster strikes and Bonnie is left at the mercy of embittered relatives.

Five years later, the events of one terrible night cause her to flee to London, where she starts to earn her living as a singer. And, as time passes, she falls in love. But just when she dares to hope, war is declared. She sings for the troops to boost morale, but heartache might just be around the corner . . .

Will she be able to hold on to hope for a brighter future?
