Опис книги

Painting is the focal point of A.R. Penck's multi-layered oeuvre. The first three volumes of his catalogue raisonné are dedicated to it. With a total of approximately 2500 paintings, they reveal the entire spectrum of the most diverse types of images that the artist developed. As described in the accompanying essay, this ranges in the first volume from the redefinition of the panel painting as an organ of thought to the "Standart" project to the programmatic variety of picture types of the 1970s. In addition to the information on provenance, exhibition history, and literature, the focus is on the format- filling presence of the paintings.
