Corporal Race Monro, an ex-Confederate Officer, now a member of the North West Mounted Police, is on a mission into Montana Territory when he is murderously attacked and left for dead by a fellow mounted policeman. But Race survives and has to complete his mission and also bring the murderer to justice.
