Paradise Lost is an epic poem by John Milton, an English poet, thinker and politician.
The poem describes in blank verse a story of the first man Adam. Besides, the author actively develops a plot of the Book of Genesis about the Fall of Man, the creation of the world and the formation of the hell that is situated in the impenetrable darkness or chaos. A big role is played by the fallen angel, a.k.a. Satan or snake.
