Peter Lane is well-known for his many books and for his own creative work, especially in porcelain, which is included in many public and private collections around the world. His ceramics have been widely exhibited in Europe, North America and Australia. He has lectured and given numerous workshop demonstrations in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States of America as well as many more in Great Britain. He is a Fellow of both the Craft Potters Association and the Society of Designer-Craftsmen and his work is included in the selective index, Craftsmen of Quality, at the Crafts Council in London.
In 1987, after more than 30 years of full-time teaching in schools, colleges and university, Peter Lane resigned from his Senior Lectureship at the University of East Anglia to concentrate fully on his own creative work. He now lives and works in Hampshire in the south of England.
