• Will build extensive press lists comprising appropriate press contacts at all media types listed above.
• Will develop an initial press release presenting the book’s overarching message and themes
• Will develop four pitches, each focusing on a specific angle: thematic pitches drawing on the book’s content that lend themselves to the development of bylined articles; pitches offering the author as a commentator on other topics in their expertise; general profile pitches about the author’s background; and pitches offering excerpts from the book
• Will push the communications out to the author’s press lists by email at intervals of approximately 2 to 3 weeks
• Will work with author to develop a supplemental article for each pitch where needed to offer instead of, or in addition to, interviews
• Will take other steps as needed to engage with the media.
• Will provide tips and coaching in preparation for interviews as needed
• Will follow through persistently on all media outreach with a view to securing as much media coverage as possible

Frankie Conner, first-year graduate student at UC Berkeley, is finally getting her life together.
