Nick Newlin has broad experience marketing the Nicolo Whimsey Show to high school and library systems, and will incorporate The Thirty Minute Shakespeare into the Nicolo Whimsey website, mailings, school fairs, etc. We have purchased uccessfully used direct mailing lists from MDR, NACS, and CAMEX in the past, and will purchase new lists for the launch of these titles. The 30-Minute Shakespeare series is regularly cited by the Folger Shakespeare Library’s very active Folger Education program, recognized and used extensively by thousands of high school and college educators and including blogs, webinars, lesson plans, and conferences. The 30-Minute Shakespeare website was re-designed and re-launched in 2013 and will include promotional information for the two new plays launching in Spring 2014, THE MERCHANT OF VENICE and THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, and both plays will be featured and discussed on the 30-Minute Shakespeare Facebook page, now with nearly 2,500 fans. We attend the NCTE conference every year, co-exhibiting with the Folger Shakespeare Library, and are planning to attend one or two regional high school teacher conventions in 2014. Nicolo Whimsey Press will be attending AATE Convention in Washington, DC in July 2013, and will have a booth at Brooklyn Book Festival in Sep. 2013, as well as Gaithersburg Book Festival in 2014.

"A truly fun, emotional, and sometimes magical first experience . . . guided by a sagacious, knowledgeable, and intuitive educator."—Library Journal The Taming of the Shrew: The 30-Minute Shakespeare offers eight scenes from this broad comedy. Opening with Petruchio and Kate's bawdy war of words, the drama continues with Bianca's courtship by Lucentio and Hortensio, disguised as pedants. The adaptation climaxes with the outlandish marriage scene, and Petruchio's relentless "taming" of Kate. The play ends with Kate's famous speech in praise of women's submission to their husbands, at once hilarious and provocative. The edition includes a preface by Nick Newlin, containing helpful advice on presenting Shakespeare in a high school setting with novice actors, as well as an appendix with play-specific suggestions and recommendations for further resources.
