This case study examines the fish farming and processing enterprises of the Binmaley Rural Improvement Club (BRIC), a women's association in the Philippines. The study looks into the history and organizational features of the association, and how it has developed strong partnerships with suppliers of materials for fish processing while also forging good relations with its product buyers and traders. The paper stresses the need for small farmers to be organized and trained in technical and management skills for effective participation in the value chain. It also notes the importance of promoting a product image that reflects quality, safety, and environmental and social responsibility in the association's actions.
