1. Finished books will be available for review copy mailings in November, which will help us secure media and bookseller interest in advance of publication. We'll actively seek print media and radio interviews with the translators to coincide with National Poetry Month. 2. Publicity efforts will include a large, pre-publication finished copy mailing targeting booksellers, journals, and online sites that focus on literature in translation, and all major newspapers and poetics journals. 3. We'll promote the book at all major academic conferences.
These spare and allegorical later poems of Romania’s great poet, Eugen Jebeleanu (1911–1991), are deeply moving expressions of collective and personal guilt from an artist whose early participation in and later disillusionment with the regime lend his work a particular, searing authenticity. Appearing in English for the first time, these profoundly unsentimental poems are politically and artistically significant lyric testimonies. These spare and allegorical later poems of Romania’s great poet, Eugen Jebeleanu (1911–1991), are deeply moving expressions of collective and personal guilt from an artist whose early participation in and later disillusionment with the regime lend his work a particular, searing authenticity.
