Книга Gospel Integrity: Moving Your Heart from Duty to Beauty
Our identity is grounded in the Gospel - yet how easily we lose sight of it in daily life. Eddie Byun draws us back to the Gospel, not merely as a truth we confess but as a reality we are called to live.
- Edward Kim, Pastor and Theologian
We use the word gospel constantly, yet too often its significance stops at our heads and never reaches our hearts. The result is a faith marked by exhaustion instead of joy, performance instead of peace, and duty instead of delight.
In Gospel Integrity, Eddie Byun offers a gentle yet urgent invitation to rediscover the beauty of the Gospel. It is a message that saves us, and it has the power to shape every part of our lives.
Drawing from decades of pastoral ministry, Byun exposes the common idols that distort our faith and steal our joy. With pastoral warmth and biblical clarity, he shows how the Gospel is not just the beginning of our Christian faith but also its sustaining power for everyday life.
This is not a call to try harder, but an invitation to integrate the Gospel into all of life as we rest in the finished work of Christ.
Move from duty to beauty.
Rediscover the depth of the Gospel.
Let it change everything.
"Accessible rather than academic, rooted in lived experience in a way that makes it easy for a broad range of readers to relate to, even without a theological background... There is a clear Tim Keller and gospel-centrality lineage running through it... It reads like a plumb line, a needed return to gospel centrality and integration for a generation that may have quietly drifted from a conversation that still matters." - Jay Morgan, Executive Director of Ministries, JAMA Global

Dr. Eddie Byun's book gave me a fresh and deeply practical understanding of how the gospel is meant to shape the whole of the Christian life-not only our salvation, but the way we live every day.
As a wife, mother, and educator, I found myself continually thinking about what it looks like to weave the gospel into each of those roles. I have followed Christ for more than 40 years, and yet this book still opened my eyes in new ways and gently challenged me to examine whether the gospel is truly influencing every facet of my life.
I especially appreciated Dr. Eddie's engaging illustrations, along with the gospel application, discussion questions, and prayer prompts at the end of each chapter. The HEARTS framework on forgiveness was especially memorable and practical, and I also loved the appendix tracing the gospel through every book of the Bible.
This was an encouraging, thought-provoking, and highly applicable read-one that has prompted me to live with greater intentionality and to let the gospel more fully shape how I love, lead, teach, forgive, and walk with Christ.
"Gospel Integrity serves as a practical blueprint for gospel-centered living. Drawing on decades of ministry experience, Eddie Byun uses vivid storytelling to help biblical principles come to life. His clear, engaging presentation equips readers to understand how and why the Gospel empowers spiritual transformation. While valuable for any reader, his insights will especially help those navigating the Asian-American ministry context." - Jeff Suhr, Lead Pastor of New Life Church of Irvine

Dr. Eddie Byun does an excellent job unpacking what it means to be gospel-centered, drawing a sharp contrast with the exhausting "perform to be accepted by God" mindset that so many of us default to or were raised in, whether we realize it or not. What makes this book especially compelling is the humility and transparency Byun brings to the table-he doesn't write from a distance, but shares candidly from his own experiences, which gives the theology real weight and credibility. The chapters on suffering and forgiveness stand out as some of the most powerful in the book. Byun doesn't shy away from the valley of the shadow of death, but instead shows how the gospel actually meets us there, transforming how we walk through difficulty rather than simply offering platitudes about it. And at times our suffering is paired with the need to forgive - others or ourselves - and his writing is a faithful guide that brings the gospel into our context as we navigate such times.
Equally striking are the chapters on idolatry. Byun is honest about the fact that we all battle idols in one form or another, but he doesn't leave readers stuck in that diagnosis. Instead, he points to the beauty and power of the gospel as the means by which we can identify, confront, and ultimately reject those idols.
I appreciate that this isn't just a theoretical theology book. It's a practical reworking of how to understand and live in light of the gospel's transforming power, born out of Byun's own learning and lived experience. This is theology you can actually use.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants their thinking challenged on grace, the gospel, salvation, and the freedom we have living under it. Truly, the gospel renews everything.

Gospel Integrity: Moving Your Heart from Duty to Beauty by Eddie Byun is a book that will restore your joy and confidence in the gospel. It is a timely reminder for anyone whose heart is broken over the present church that may be flourishing on the outside but seems to have strayed away from the gospel it preaches. This book will help both the religious and the rebellious to ponder its true meaning, and I would recommend it to anyone who longs to regain its beauty and power in their lives as well as their church family.
Having known Eddie as a fellow brother and servant in Christ, "Gospel Integrity" is reflective of the life that he lives, and his warmth and honesty comes through in the book. And I am looking forward to seeing God using all the seasons of his life to bring us back to the liberating and transforming message of the gospel. May God use this book to bring God's people to a place of resting in Christ, and being honest before others, that the beauty of the gospel, and the joy and peace that is found in Christ will permeate the church.
