A red-haired man named Jabez Wilson was unexpectedly given a surprisingly easy and well-paid job by the "Redheads' Union", as he was told, because of the unique shade of his hair. For several weeks, Jabez Wilson came to work in a small, isolated office and spent several hours a day rewriting the Encyclopaedia Britannica. But one day, he saw an announcement that the Redheads' Union had disbanded and that there was no more synecdoche. Wilson asks Holmes to help him understand this strange story and find out what happened. Translated by Mykola Dmytrenko.
