Все о книге Antifragile. Things that Gain from Disorder
'Really made me think about how I think' - Mohsin Hamid, author of Exit West
Tough times don't last. Tough people do.
In The Black Swan, Taleb showed us that highly improbable and unpredictable events underlie almost everything about our world. Here Taleb stands uncertainty on its head, making it desirable, even necessary. The antifragile is beyond the resilient or robust. The resilient resists shocks and stays the same; the antifragile gets better and better.
Just as human bones get stronger when subjected to stress and tension, many things in life benefit from stress, disorder, volatility, and turmoil. What Taleb has identified and calls antifragile are things that not only gain from chaos but need it in order to survive and flourish.
Antifragile is a blueprint for living in a Black Swan world. Erudite, witty, and iconoclastic, Taleb's message is revolutionary: the antifragile, and only the antifragile, will make it.
'The hottest thinker in the world' Bryan Appleyard, Sunday Times

Hasn’t the same been written a thousand times before? The book of Taleb «Antifragility» attracted me by extremely positive reviews. Having bought this book, I opened it with expectancy of enjoyment.
Turning over page by page, I expected to read some new ideas, but in the most of cases I saw disrespect to colleagues and really rude comments. Although the book is written in a beautiful manner, it is for people who read a lot.
If you have not enough time to read, it can be a little bit difficult to perceive the language. The idea, that I liked (but it is not new), is that nobody gets a prize for useful inactivity. That is why we have a lot of fuss in a world that could be harmful.
For example, a doctor, who allows your body to be cured by itself, doesn’t get any premiums, any praises. In other case a doctor, who convinces a patient that he needs an operation, cures him, putting him at risk and after that he earns a huge amount of money.
The author writes that the need promotes the development and difficulties promote the success. He writes that modern educational system is not effective because of lack of real practice. He also says that we shouldn’t set equal skills «to do» and «to talk».
But hasn’t the same been written a thousand times before?
In my humble opinion, this book is for general readers or for people who want to know that someone smart agrees with their thoughts.
