Девочка с медвежьим сердцем
Это подростковое мистическое фэнтези. События происходят в Англии 17го века в разгар буржуазной революции. Мейкпис после смерти матери отправляется к родственникам отца – знатной семье Феллмонт. Они настолько могущественны, что управляют даже королем, а люди служат им сосудами для призраков. Мейкпис узнает, что она – внебрачная дочь одного из членов семьи Феллмонтов и тоже умеет принимать в себе души умерших. Аристократы считают, что Мейкпис может стать сосудом в случае несчастного случая с их наследниками.
Героиня не хочет быть сосудом для мертвецов и убегает. Ей придется побывать во многих местах страны, охваченной войной. Историческим фоном служит английская революция. Девочка знакомится с крестьянскими семьями, попадает в солдатские убежища и а приемы светского общества. Внутри неё оказывается дух умершего медведя. Мейкпис оказывается втянута в политические интриги и заговоры против короны.
В романе много приключений, красочных описаний Англии 17го века. Есть дрессированные медведи, аристократы и уклад их быта. Сюжет оригинальный, его будет интересно читать не только подросткам.
