They are stargazers. Pioneers of interstellar routes. Discoverers of unknown worlds, bizarre and incomprehensible to man. They are the first to face the mysteries of space and alien planets. They try to unravel the intricate riddles of unfamiliar life. To find the sparks of another mind in the dead vastness of the Galaxy.

And somewhere out there, hundreds of parsecs away, the Earth is circling the Sun. Green forests and yellow deserts, blue ice and emerald ocean expanses, white caps of mountains and green hoops of steppes. Relatives and loved ones. Home. Homeland.

For all this, they go into the cosmic cold and unknown. They endure hardship and mortal danger. They constantly risk their lives. And they come back with the realisation that they are expected, that their new knowledge is needed, that without it there will be no progress for humanity.

They are stargazers. This story is a parsimonious illustration of their harsh everyday life.
