The insectoid race and enemies of the Confederacy, the Ramanthians, capture a group of humans and send them to a labour camp on a remote jungle planet. What they don’t know is that within their group of captives is none other than the President of the Confederacy. The rest of the entourage, lead by young diplomat Christine Vanderveen, must collude to hide his identity.

Meanwhile, an unauthorised and treacherous rescue mission is underway, headed by Captain Antonio Santana, Vanderveen’s former lover. While Vanderveen faces down opposition, both human and alien, Santana must fight all odds – including his own feelings – to save the captives and the fate of the Confederation.
