M. Heifetz is a former prisoner of the Mordovian camps. There, in 1974-1978, he made friends with Ukrainian political prisoners V. Stus, V. Chornovil, M. Rudenko, 3. Popadiuk, V. Ovsiienko, and others, about whom he sincerely and cordially tells in this book.
