The present work is the second, revised edition of the book published in 2007, which for the first time comprehensively presented the origin and development of the tradition of beaded art in Ukraine.

The subject of the greatest attention is folk beaded jewellery, an original phenomenon of Ukrainian folk art of the nineteenth and first half of the twentieth centuries. Partly thanks to the publication of 2007, after half a century of oblivion, beaded jewellery began to regain its popularity and once again became an important part of the cultural life of Ukrainians. The publication is intended for a wide range of readers. It can be used as a methodological guide for everyone who wants to join the artistic practices with beads.
