The textbook is aimed at forming the foundations of third-graders' literary competence. It implements a literary approach to the study of folklore and literary works. The educational material is presented in a historical retrospective, taking into account the preferences of modern junior pupils. The formation of a skilled reader is based on the classical circle of children's literature.
