The content of the manual meets the requirements of the Model Educational Programme developed under the guidance of R. B. Shyian and organically combines the functions of a textbook and a workbook with a printed basis. The workbook contains grammatical tasks, material on speech development, as well as tasks for the development of critical, logical, creative thinking, and tasks of increased complexity. The material is presented taking into account the psychological characteristics of first-graders. The manual contains the appendix «Spellings», which offers exercises to develop the skill of writing handwritten letters, as well as checklists for self-checking the correctness of tasks.
