Roman Ivanichuk (1929-2016) was a famous Ukrainian writer, winner of many literary awards, including the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine. His oeuvre includes about twenty historical novels, with which the writer filled in the gaps in our history. R. Ivanychuk expanded the genre boundaries of the historical work, opening up the past to the reader, which activated national memory.

The writer believed that the interview, like no other genre, most accurately reflects the true cultural, political, and everyday life of society. Therefore, this volume is devoted to Roman Ivanychuk's interviews with people who were not only interested in literature, politics, or the secrets of writers' laboratories, but also, in communicating with the Master, affirmed their patriotic positions, their belief in the brightest ideals, and also turned to him for advice.
