The collection of poems by Bohdan Kyryenko is a real excursion into the past not only of our long-suffering Motherland, but also a worldwide guide to the ancient, but no less important for humanity, epochs. "A Guide for Young Hearts" will become a true friend not only for young readers, but also for the adult generation, because in every poem you can feel all-embracing love: love for the native land, for people and for God, who, like our imagination, can be everywhere and in everything. And no matter how much you want to escape from your native land to strange and unknown places, no matter where fate throws you, you always find yourself returning to your native, dear places later on. Thanks to the Guide, we are transported from our native Ukrainian steppes to Kyivan Rus, then, having smelt the smell of victory over the Pechenegs, we find ourselves in the "frost-bitten" tundra, and after travelling across Europe, we breathe in the mountain nectar of the magical Carpathians. The author inspires us to believe that the main thing is not who you are and where you live, because your power is always in your mind and in your own imagination, which can transport you to different time and space.

The author, despite the path he has travelled and the conclusions he has drawn, undoubtedly sees the future of our people as bright. The optimism of the poems is fascinating and inspiring, because we all really want to believe, although it is very difficult, that soon our country will have the long-awaited peace and we will gain real faith and confidence in a happy future.
