The story "Happy" is about a twenty-year-old young man whose leg was cut off in the war. In the hospital, there are similarly crippled comrades-in-arms. The doctor and nurse teach the guy to walk on crutches, and finally he is discharged home. Life seems to be over, but a neighbour, Andriy, who is also without a leg, comes to visit.
