The monograph uses an interdisciplinary approach to trace the genesis and evolution of the Christmas nativity scene in European countries, including Ukraine. The specific historical aspect of the study involves not only a generalisation of a certain set of facts, but also an axiological analysis in order to identify relic and viable forms of folk culture.
