Set in 1547, the author tells the story of two boys who look alike and were born on the same day: Tom Kent, a beggar who lives with his abusive and alcoholic father, and Prince Edward VI of England, the son of King Henry VIII. They both have the opportunity to live in each other's roles, but the problem is to return to their former lives.
