Osyp Turiansky (1880-1933) was a Ukrainian prose writer who also worked in poetic and critical genres and translated from foreign languages. The anti-war psychological story-poem of the First World War, Beyond the Limits of Pain (1917-1921), was first published in Vienna in 1921 in German translation and at the same time brought Osyp Turiansky worldwide recognition.
