Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi is a recognised master of impressionism in Ukrainian literature. His short story "Ambassador from the Black Tsar" is an example of this style.
The narrator tells the story of his meeting with Solonyna. So recently he was a "golden youth", but after one unfortunate incident he retrained as a village shopkeeper.
