The book, in its expanded and revised form, contains lectures delivered by Mykhajlo Hrushevsky in the winter of 1920-1921 at the Ukrainian Sociological Institute. It is devoted to the central problem of sociology of that time - the causes and factors of sociality, the emergence and existence of human society.
