The book offers a definition and outlines the structure of the concept of «language consciousness». Its role as a factor of linguistic behaviour, a guarantee of linguistic stability and linguistic order in the state is clarified. A typology of levels of language consciousness is developed on the basis of the value criterion. The principles, methods, channels and main content of language education of Ukrainian citizens are considered.

 

It is emphasised that, given globalisation, the rise of language consciousness is becoming extremely important today and that the future knowledge society creates the most favourable opportunities for this.
