P. Hulak-Artemovskyi's works include fables (fable-tale, fable-parable), parables, poems, messages, ballads. He also introduced the romantic ballad genre to Ukrainian literature. His best works in Ukrainian are written in the spirit of the aesthetics of enlightenment realism.
