Antin Shchegelsky's novels are a satirical look at life in modern Ukraine. Written almost from life, his characters - politicians, civil servants of various levels, journalists, businessmen, ordinary peasants and workers - live in a fictional world that is very close to the real one. They are no strangers to all the vices and delights of modern society. They work hard in the struggle for survival. And at the same time, they do not miss an opportunity to trip up their neighbours or jump into the buckwheat. They fall tenderly in love and are bitterly disappointed. In short, they live.
