"Mohammed and Khadija", as the title suggests, is primarily a love poem, the theme of which is the relationship between the Prophet Mohammed and his first wife Khadija.
This poem belongs to the "late" period of Kulish's work - it was written in 1883 and was first published in Lviv in the same year.
