Boucolicles are a genre of shepherd's love song that dates back to the ancient Greek poet Theocritus. The Ukrainian intimate bukoliks of the author and the protagonist are frank memories of how a teenager gradually became a man, about the sexual characteristics and intimate secrets of a young man. The protagonist is also concerned with the choice of sexual orientation. The author also recreates pictures of life in the distant Soviet times, where writing about such things was considered immoral, and is glad that he was not "judged" and can write poetry in his native language.

The title of the poetry collection "Shepherd's Decamerons" after Boccaccio seems to invite the reader to the intimate stories. The songs without punctuation marks at the beginning of the collection are intriguing. So, let's get acquainted with this original book!
