This book is a bilingual edition of selected works from the Kobzar by Taras Shevchenko. All of the Yiddish translations contained here were made during the 1920s and 1930s by the famous Jewish poet David Hofstein (1889-1952). The book is illustrated with drawings by the "boychukist" Vasyl Sedlyar (1899-1937), which were used to decorate the unique 1931 edition of Kobzar.
