Calendar and ritual songs are age-old traditions of folk art that reflect the singing soul of Ukrainians. Mermaids, St Nicholas, Kupalo are characters from favourite childhood holidays. Melodiousness, rhythmicity, simple vocabulary, a wealth of similes - all this is harmoniously combined in calendar and ritual songs.
