The textbook is a continuation of the series that children studied in grades 1-4. The familiar Manon and Timeo will continue to help students learn and motivate them to communicate in a fluent foreign language. The textbook is based on the model curriculum "Foreign Language: Grades 5-9" for general secondary education (authors: Redko V. H., Shalenko O. P., Sotnykova S. I., Kovalenko O. Y., Koropetska I. B., Jacob O. M., Samoiliukevych I. V., Dobra O. M., Kior T. M.). The French textbook, created for the 5th grade of the NUS, is based on competence-based, communicative, activity-based and personality-oriented approaches. It takes into account modern methods of teaching foreign languages at school and corresponds to the current model curriculum "Foreign Language 5-9 grades" for general secondary education (authors: Redko V. H., Shalenko O. P., Sotnykova S. I., Kovalenko O. Y., etc.) The textbook is intended for pupils who learn French from the 1st grade. The materials in the publication are interesting and up-to-date, and their main purpose is to teach a foreign language as a means of communication, to develop students' readiness to communicate in another language, and to instil respect for the culture, history and traditions of another people. The textbook has been stamped " Recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine" (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 140 dated 08.02 . 2022).
