It may not be waterproof, but Galison's Out to Sea Classic Journal is an attractive blank book that would be great for anyone shipwrecked on a desert isle! The nautical blue cover shows illustrations by Debbie Powell of waves, golden fish, a red sailing vessel, a red anchor, and a Mark Twain's exhortation to "Dream, explore, discover." The back cover shows a spouting blue whale, seahorse, and compass. The bright red spine is labeled "journal". The grain embossed texture makes the journal a pleasure to hold and to use. In a pinch, the pages can be torn out, placed in a bottle, and thrown into the brine. But we hope that won't be necessary.
