"Tsipov's Tongue", like none of M. Kotsiubynsky's previous works, is marked by political topicality and breadth of views on life. The story convincingly condemns the folk method of peasants' struggle for land, boldly exposes the existing state system and the tsar as the main culprit of human grief.
