The monograph analyses the contemporary linguistic and social phenomenon of anglobarbarisation (alienation) in the socio-cultural context. We find out the extralinguistic and intralinguistic reasons for motivated and unmotivated borrowing through the prism of cultural and linguistic national identity. For the first time in the history of linguistics, we offer unique graphic representations of anglicisms as codes of their meanings with the accompanying philosophical context. For the first time, we travel through the lives of individual anglicisms and their Ukrainian equivalents in lexical and semantic, etymological, and socio-cultural aspects.
For the first time, this monograph is the result of a two-year interactive project on the author's YouTube channel "Antianglism", where 68 videos with interpretations of anglicisms and their Ukrainian equivalents were recorded. This is not the first time we have contrasted the unique with the global, the national with the cosmopolitan, the traditional with the fashionable, our own with someone else's, and thus the eternal with the transient. We define the primacy of specific words in the midst of political pressure and anti-national tendencies. Nothing tears the deceitful veil off the world like words - our own and others'. The overarching idea of the work is "Foreigners?" - only in desperation and of high quality! For all speakers who choose words like people and have their own linguistic home.
