Alice Through the Looking Glass is a children's book by English mathematician and writer Lewis Carroll, written in 1871 as a sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. This time, Alice goes to a fairy-tale land called the Looking Glass. She becomes a participant in an unusual chess game - first as a pawn, and then as a queen.
